Dear Fox,

I’m not sure how I’m supposed to feel about the office of the president anymore.

Please advise.

In Nineteen-Eighty-Four Winston Smith had to edit history books. BOOORING. It makes way more sense to jam the information hose down everyone’s throats, turn it on, and fohgettaboutit. By doing so FOX creates a goldfish audience for themselves. Every day a new declaration is proclaimed, one that seems to contradict yesterday’s, and so on and so on, until no one knows what to believe from one day to the next. Flashy graphics and a 24-hour news cycle does wonders when it comes to dulling the consternation of the average viewer.
